This is one of my favorite places to go as it is only about 1 1/2 hrs. away from me. Though I have only been riding ATV's now for about 3 years I would rate it moderate to advanced level depending on what part of the park you go in. As you enter the park ATV riding area there are 2 staging areas one just as you enter the other up by the MX Track of which is the one we always use.

The Northwestern side is where all the slate hills from the strip mining are located (some on the other side but this side hase the big ones). Southeastern side hills and bottom land, swamp etc.

Then you have the track area, my guess in total length about 1 mile track maybe little bit less with jumps, tabletop, steep hill top hairpin turns. Turns very well banked, flat areas are toped with wood bark to hold down the dust. Table top again guessing about 30ft.

This park is to me very well maintained in fact when we where down there this past weekend they had the bulldozers out to clean trails and making new ones so it was really dusty.

Trails can be very hazardous to you and your bike of choice. Saw one guy go up a imbankment about 30 yards long, guess the pitch would be around 35-40 degrees. Lost it at the top and down came bike and man.... Point here is THINK before doing...

When it is dry out the park is very dusty and rough but if you like the mud as I do when a rain moves in ohhhh mannnn get ready for a blast as it is one hell of a ride.

I have been to Deepwater, Fingerlakes, St Joe Park, Chadwick, Colorado, Utah, Arkansas and Iowa and would rate this up there at the top for pure fun mainly when wet. Of course Nothing I have been to bets the mountains in Colorado or the Badland areas of Utah but this is good.

IF you like fast tracks, jumps, skillful turns the track is GREAT...

If you like hills steep and true and not rocky like Chadwick, it is here.

If you like the mud like deepwater but not the ruts then that too is here.

If all you like is flat out sand blasting balls to the wall speed that is NOT here....

Just my 2 cents..... Try it if yo have not

$3 to get in for a day, cheap day...... Helmets and flags are req'd (flags on atv's only) No Dune Buggies allowed or monster trucks.

IF the picture came through it is a picture of a friend of mine (look real close to see him) stuck in a creek crossing deep in the mud....

i used to ride at Finger Lakes a lot as a kid. Last time I rode there was 4th of July weekend back in 1994. That place scared the pants off me back then. Come up a hill and pray there was a side and not a lake on the other side. Oddly I used to race the MO Hare Series and I never raced that race. I need to go back there. The motocross track was a blast back then.
