I got beat 2007/05/13 07:11 Karma: 0
I have raced many a sport ATV with my Can-Am 800 XT and none had beat it. That is until yesterday..

My brother in law and came over yeaterday with his Honda 450 Foreman for me to re jet, install snorkel kit and exhaust system. We did this, tookit to the creek for a water ride and all went well.

Afterwards we decided to go to the local dealer (where I bought the Can-Am) and look around so we headed out.

Well expensive venture for brother in law as we came back to my place with a brand new Can-Am Renegade...
Beautiful yellow, wonderful deep tone in the already race ready exhaust and just screaming give me gas.....

So as it is a expensvie bike he putted around here for a bit then it the Renegade was just screaming at him to let it out against his cousin the XT 1 time. It wanted to play with my Can-Am 800 XT... So we did.

Now I have personally had the XT up to 86 mph so know what it well do.....

We went down to the open field, nice, flat no bumps and no mounds jsut flat dirt for about 200 yds.

He on one side, me on the other, both in 2 wheel drive, both ATV's proud and ready to show what they where made of.

1, 2, 3 go

Well right form the start he took me. At 50 yards he was about 6 lengths a ahead. At about 100 yards he was well ahead of me, I was eating dust for the first time...

I maxed out at 89mph. He hit 95 mph with in his own words "A bit left". I was impressed and in complete amazement at this bike . Both are stock as the day they where bilt.

So I said ok, lets goto a few loops and see how it does. Suspension fully adjustable, sitting next to the lowest setting for a cush ride we went to some jumps.

1st jump slow and easy, good recovery and landing by him. Now my turn, I wwas going about 35mph, went up my table top I have made (only 20 feet long) and cleared the whole damn thing, landed beautiful, just a master piece. What a bike, 4 wheel fun on a sport bike frame. Love it, just 1 bad thing to say about it, it is his and not mine . I am buying a scarf so I do not over incest to much dust from the sick jerk . He use to be my friend when I was beating him!

Yup.. Rengades will do that to an Outlander

Per the specs the Gades weigh about 100 lbs less.. they have the exact same motor but a different clutch setup.. different shocks too so that makes for a little better handling.

When I bought my new one... it was between a Renegade and an Outlander.. the lack of racks, size of the plastic and the fact that the load limit on the Gade is 310 lbs made me go with the Outlander. I test rode them both and just felt "better" on the Outlander...

Artic Cat is coming out wiht the new Thundercat 1000 and it's suppose to pretty much eat up anything CanAm has to offer. But, I am sure next year CanAm will answer back.

For my taste, my Outtie 800 has all the power I need and then some. I mostly trail ride so the fact that there are bikes that can beat down the Outtie in a straight drag dosen't mean much to me.

I suppose its just the nature of the sport.. there will always be bigger and faster..

At first when I just skimmed this article I thought you were saying that his 450 Foreman beat the Outlander
