EPA Challenges St. Joe Park PDF Print E-mail

We made front page of monday's St. Louis Post Dispatch today with article about the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) trying to convince the Department of Natural Resources to close our Off-Road Park.  The EPA says the park should close because of the exposure to lead in the area, even though the park has been open for decades, now is such a great time to close it.  St. Louis Post Dispatch stated that over 800,000 people visited the park last year and 55,000 Off-Road permits were issued.  Where is all the so-called lead poisoned people?  Of course, everyone knows St. Joe is a lead mine and people have chose to ride their for years.  One person responded, they were more concerned with their kids toys these days than St. Joe Park.  As always the battle will continue to close Off-Road Parks all over the United States.  They complain about the noise, dust, pollution, and everything else, but they are the first ones to jump in their gas-polluting vehicle and drive off.  What a joke!
